Outdoor education
At CGB learning takes place beyond the confines of the traditional classroom. Beyond The Summit, our outdoor education programme, offers all the students from Y3 to Y12 the chance to participate in excursions to different parts of Colombia. The trips, which range from 2 to 5 days (depending upon the age of the students), provide an ideal context for experiential learning to take place in a meaningful, real-world context.
Students develop new perspectives through first-hand experiences, and acquire skills that cannot easily be attained through formal education.
Our partners, Zambo, aims to foster pedagogical pillars that are closely aligned to CGB’s philosophy: Positive Youth Development, Social and Cross Cultural Awareness, Enriched Learning, Empathy and Environmental Awareness.
We feel strongly that the field trips have a positive impact on our students by affirming leadership and social skills, teamwork, self-awareness, independence, and self-confidence, amongst other.
These attributes, along with the memories of school excursions, will last a lifetime.
