Well-intentioned policy and practice statements about language teaching and learning (´We are all language teachers ´) can be unrealistic and intimidating for teachers, have a negligible impact on language development in the school population, and ultimately be counterproductive to the nurturing of a language-supportive school community.

This four-day conference held in Bogotá, Colombia aims to open a provocative and challenging space for school leaders, classroom practitioners, and EFL specialists to consider received wisdom and current theory within a framework of four guiding themes. October 2nd – 6th 2017

Dates:

Monday 2nd (DAY 1) – Slaying sacred cows; challenging assumptions

Tuesday 3rd (DAY 2) – Where this leaves us; methods and approaches

Wednesday 4th (DAY 3) – We are in this together; collaboration

Thursday 5th (DAY 4) – Moving forward; ongoing learning

A limited number of participants are welcome to register for an additional day to observe, visit classrooms and meet with our ALD team to discuss regional best practice.

The goal of the conference is to enable participants to explore theoretically sound, pragmatic, accessible, and empathetic approaches for uncovering unique approaches for international and bilingual school contexts.
