Dear CGB Students, Parents and Staff
I am extremely pleased to announce that we have received notification of our admission as a school to the Unión de Colegios Bilingues (UCB by its acronym in Spanish or Union of Bilingual Schools). The UCB is the second largest league of schools in Bogotá. Our application process began in April of this year with the submission of numerous documents and a visit by three directors of member schools. It is rewarding to learn that the UCB General Assembly has looked favourably on our application.
As CGB has grown in population and maturity as an institution, it was felt that the students could benefit from an association of schools that would afford them the opportunity to compete in sports and cultural arenas. Through the UCB annual activities, CGB students will compete in football, volleyball and basketball. Additionally, they will be able to interact with students from other schools for cultural days, participate in an all-school Christmas choir, art exhibitions and theatrical festivals. Moreover, there will be professional development opportunities for our teachers.
There is no doubt that our new affiliation will enrich student life at CGB and enhance our philosophy and mission. Likewise, we are confident that CGB students have a great deal to contribute to the UCB and will further promote the values and objectives of the Association.
Regards
