The attributes of a prefect are:

       1. Demonstrates a positive attitude.
     2. Always tries their best.
     3. Shows respect towards all members of the school community.
     4. Demonstrates the qualities of a leader.
     5. Is a good role model for other students.

The duties to be carried out by a Year 6 prefect are:

      1. Assist with school events and assemblies
     2. Be an ambassador for the school by representing the school at
         public events, show visitors around the school and other special
         occasions.
     3. Assist the Head of Section by helping with the day to day
         running of the section e.g. monitoring the dining room.
     4. Set a good example for all children by following the school’s code
         of conduct.

As Head and Deputy Head Prefects we are both committed to the prefect system. Our goal is to make continued improvements to this system, ensuring its continued success. Throughout the course of this school year, our main aim is to ensure that students start to perceive prefects in a positive light. We will work hand in hand with the entire CGB community and not against it. We are here to enforce the uniform policy. On this note, we would like to congratulate students for the mayor improvements that have occurred over the past few years.  However, we realise that there is still some way to go. Finally, this year bullying is an issue that Prefects will be concentrating on. Although we realise that bullying is not a frequent problem at CGB, our aim is to eradicate it completely. Bullying will not be tolerated at CGB. It is the duty of Prefects and all of the CGB family, to make sure bullying does not occur.  We will like to add that Prefects will also be on duty in the cafeteria, backfield and playground during lunchtimes and bus departures in the afternoons. Each Prefect has been assigned two duties which they will continue with throughout the year.  This year the prefects will raise the bar for the future generations to come.  We aim to produce an environment where all can feel safe and enjoy our time at this auspicious establishment.
