Arts

Art and design promotes our student's creativity and imagination through providing art, craft and design activities that relate to their own identity and experiences, the natural and manmade objects and materials with which they are familiar with, and the locality in which they live in. Art and design offers opportunities to:

  • Stimulate our student's creativity and imagination by providing visual, tactile and sensory experiences, and a unique way of understanding and responding to the world
  • Develop our student's understanding of colour, form, texture and pattern
  • Develop the ability to use materials and processes to communicate ideas, feelings and meanings

Título

  • Explore ideas and meanings in the work of artists, craftspeople and designers and help them learn about their different roles and about the functions of art, craft and design in their own lives and in different times and cultures
  • Help our students to learn how to make thoughtful judgement and aesthetic and practical decisions, and become actively involved in shaping our environment.
Students in Key Stage 3 & 4 follow the England and Wales National Curriculum programme leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education Exam 0400 in Art.
A wide variety of activities and studies are undertaken using different media in 2 and 3 dimensions in order to give the students a broad learning base in Investigating, Making Knowledge and Understanding.
