The nationalities represented among our student body are as follows: 38% Colombian, 14% American, 7% British, 7% Brazilian, 9% Mexican, 3% Argentinian and 22% other nationalities. 23 different nationalities were counted among our students and staff when celebrating “Día de la Raza”. 32% of our students have English as their first language. It is school policy that the representation of any one nationality within the student body should not exceed 50% between Year 1 and Year 13.
An elected Student Council, one for Secondary and another for Primary, to encourage social responsibility exist, and it is composed of students from Year 3 to Year 13, providing widespread participation by the entire student body. The Student Council is a forum for student ideas, offers practice in self-government and allows students, in keeping with the level of maturity, to participate in group decision-making and community service. Fund raising, bake sales, jeans days, supporting charity activities, are activities generated by this group.

Students are encouraged to participate in activities such as “Terry Fox Run”, The Charity Committee, or Christmas Donations to develop a social conscience.
Colegio Gran Bretaña also encourages school-sponsored publications and productions as an educational activity through which students can gain experience in reporting, writing, editing and an understanding of responsible journalism. The Year Book and the Literacy Magazine are examples of it.
Creative and practical activities such as carpentry and cooking clubs are promoted. Music and Arts are also promoted through class assemblies in primary, as well as through theatrical productions such as “My Fair Lady”, “Ocean Commotion” and "Peter Pan", with broad participation of students and staff.
As part of the Music curriculum, students from Y3 and above, have the option of learning violin, guitar, percussion or choir.
