Library

The timetable provides opportunities for teacher-led learning and research activities in the Library which has a growing collection of graduated readers, picture books and reference texts.

The Library has an ambience that encourages children to read quietly in sections appropriate to their needs. There is a wide selection of fiction is both English and Spanish. There are work tables for secondary students to undertake homework. PSE has been taught here and flip chart and white board is available.

The Reading Room now enjoys an extended role as an IT Research Room with four networked PCs with access to the internet.  In-house professional development and INSET also take place here and parents are frequently invited to benefit from workshops hosted by one or more departments in the school.  Staff briefings take place here weekly.  It is also one of the meeting venues of the PTA.

The Library is also used to exhibit art work, e.g. paintings from local schools celebrating the 180th Anniversary of Anglo-Colombian diplomatic relations.  The Library benefits from a budget allocation and donations from parents, teachers and philanthropic organizations.  It is becoming a central feature of academic life at CGB, lying as it does at the heart of the former residence of the Junta Directiva.
