The Department of Exceptional Needs (DEN) was founded to provide honest, quality care, guidance and support to the whole school community. Based on an inclusive approach, The DEN ensures growth and well-being, taking into consideration the international, cultural and social conditions of all. The DEN consists of psychologists, an occupational therapist, learning support teachers, an speech and language therapist and privately hired shadows.
Students referred to the Department of Exceptional Needs include:
a) Those who are not working to their full potential who have low academic performance.
b) Those who have developmental, emotional, social and/or behavioural difficulties
c) Those suspected to have a learning disability or those who have been already diagnosed by an outside agency/specialist.
d) Those who have speech and/or language problems.
e) Those who enter CGB with an IEP from another Educational Institution.
At the beginning of the year (and indeed throughout the year) teachers have meetings with the DEN Coordinator to discuss current pupils on the DEN register.
