I am sure everyone; students, teachers and parents, would agree that this was the most successful Halloween ever witnessed at CGB. The amount of effort that the community went to in order to dress up and take part in the day’s festivities was impressive. Students may be losing class time, but events like this generate team spirit and camaraderie which are factors that create a healthy school environment and a sense of belonging to the establishment. Ex-students often tell me how much they miss CGB events such as Halloween.
The costume parade was extremely entertaining with members of CGB staff dancing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and The Village People’s “YMCA”. Classes modelled their fancy dress outfits to the crowd, with Year 13 making a huge effort with their original idea of dressing up as computer game characters. They deservedly won the class prize for most effort, creativity and originality…congratulations!
Congratulations to the Secondary student Council for arranging the activities in the afternoon and for raising the funds for charity. Many thanks to Chantal Dion, our PTA President, the PTA and our Heads of School, Ms. Vicky Foster and Ms. Maureen Fleming for all their hard work in ensuring the day’s success. I will surely miss this event next year!
